LOWERING THE RISK OF INFECTION
* parents will not be admitted to the school premises
*children will wash their hands immediately on arrival at school and at regular intervals before and after activities throughout the school day
* all soft surfaces such as carpets, cushions and soft toys have been removed from the classrooms and both sites have undergone a professional deep clean
* we will work to an enhanced cleaning regime to include disinfecting of frequently touched surfaces such as tables, light switches, door handles and taps at regular intervals throughout the day
* the school and equipment will be deep cleaned by staff each Wednesday when children are off-site
* all equipment used will be sterilised at the end of each day
* Hygiene stations (containing sanitising wipes and anti-viral gel) will be placed in every classroom, staff rooms and in both areas of the playground
* both children and staff will wear freshly laundered clothes to school every day
* parents and children are asked not to use public transport when travelling to and from school
* staff will not use public transport when travelling to school unless this is unavoidable
* parents must check their child’s temperature each morning. If it is raised above 37.5, children should be kept at home
* we will discretely check children’s temperatures on arrival in the classroom. Children with raised temperatures will be sent home
*children will be taught good respiratory hygiene by promoting the ‘catch it,bin it, kill it’ approach and ensuring a good supply of tissues and bins throughout the school
* children will wash their hands at regular intervals throughout the day at the beginning and end of each session
* children will have their own labelled set of pens, pencils and art materials (provided by us)
* children are asked not to bring toys or ‘show and tell’ items from home into school
* children will share tables, but will sit at opposite ends in the same marked place every day
* teachers will give whole-class lessons from a distance of 2m from the nearest child, but they will stand closer to the children when supervising individuals
* iPads and touch screens will not be used by children
* Chrome-books will be labelled with children's names and will be sanitised after use
*children will use individual playground equipment that will be sterilised after use
* staff dealing closely with children (in case of accidents or when taking temperatures) must wear face shields, plastic aprons and disposable gloves
* teachers will not hear children read in school although packs of books will be changed and sent home for the week
* returned reading books will sit in quarantine for three days before being placed back on the bookshelves
