Nurturing confident, creative, independent thinkers – to 11+ 

Set in 6 light-filled classrooms surrounding an enclosed playground, the Upper school provides a peaceful retreat. Within this calm environment, we are committed to providing children with an exciting, hands-on learning experience. We believe they achieve a greater depth of knowledge when completely immersed in our theme-based topics. 

The shape of the day stays the same throughout the Upper School years; maths and literacy is taught in the morning and topic work, which encompasses all curriculum areas, in the afternoon.  We use theme-based teaching to enable children to make cross-curricular links. All teaching and learning begins with practical work and creative thinking is encouraged. 

We value play, so every week the staff plan a full range of playground activities, covering all areas of the curriculum, from role-play to art during their two long playtimes per day. 

The curriculum is enriched with dance, music and Spanish lessons, as well as weekly visits to external PE facilities and local amenities.
