About Us

Headteacher's Welcome

A warm welcome to the Children’s House. I’m very proud of our school. For over 50 years, the school has prioritised families and children, emphasising individualised learning. Now in 2025, we’re almost at a full prep school, with over 100 pupils from Nursery to Year 5, and our first Year 6 class this coming September.  We are an exceptionally happy school, and have become known for nurturing children to become confident, creative, independent thinkers.

Our ethos is based on high teacher-to-child ratios and small class sizes. This allows us to spend more time with each child, ensuring they get the maximum out of their critical early learning years. We have a full-time SENCo on site, supported by a team of specialists who support children in all areas, from social emotional learning to phonics and maths.

Teaching the expected curriculum and achieving excellence in exams is important (and our results are excellent) but we believe that learning has to be fun and engaging. With this in mind, we’ve developed Theme-based Learning throughout the school, tying together the traditional subjects, developing depth of understanding and inspiring stronger, cross-subject interest.

At both sites, sports, outdoor time and before and after-school clubs play an important part of the day. We have weekly PE that includes swimming, dance and a wide variety of other sports. The Prep school children play sports fixtures against other schools and enrichment activities range from Chess to Fencing to LAMDA to Choir, allowing each child to develop a wide range of hobbies and interests.

I’d welcome the opportunity to show you around the school; we believe that we have something very special here.
